Eftychia Charalampaki
Eftychia Charalampaki was born and raised in Heraklion, Crete. She studied Theatre Studies at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (EKPA), Acting with a three-year scholarship at the Theatre of Changes, and Ballet Teaching under the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD) of London.
She also holds a degree in Education from the University of Cyprus and a diploma in Leadership and Entrepreneurship from Cornell University in New York.
She has been a guest speaker at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Theater Arts, where she delivered a lecture on contemporary Greek theater and dramaturgy, analyzing the field’s developments and challenges. Additionally, she contributed to the production of Antigonick, which was performed at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Theater Arts.
Eftychia has attended theatre workshops at Harvard University, New York University and in Beijing. She has taught Theatre Pedagogy to educators and theater group facilitators in Greece and Cyprus and worked as a theater facilitator in the Theatre Sector of the University of Athens. She has been a member of the Greek Play Project team since 2022.
She has completed 10 seminars on Non-Formal Education and 12 seminars on Special Education, focusing on the application of theatrical play for adults. In 2021, she completed a thesis on "Animating Theater Groups" at EKPA, receiving a perfect score (10/10).
Eftychia has organized cultural festivals, theatrical play teaching workshops and TEDx events. She has designed educational programs and activities for children and young people through the Greek Guiding Association.
As an actress, she has worked in theater, cinema and television. She has trained in acting with Katerina Evangelatou, Dimitris Kataleifos, Pantelis Voulgaris and Andreas Konstantinou. She also studied Dance Theater and Musical Theatre at the Alvin Ailey Dance Theater in New York. Since 2015, she has performed in radio theater for ERT1, UCY Voice and TOC Radio. She has worked as a voice actor, doing dubbing and voiceovers in Athens and New York.
She has been recognized by the Greek Film Center for a short film screenplay and has received two Best Direction awards at the ToC Action Group Festivals.
Eftychia speaks English, French and Chinese.
