Since the 2014-2015 season, the National Theatre has organised an Educational Studio for young playwrights who want to acquire a reliable methodology, learning about the rules of dramaturgy and engaging in the practical work of transferring a text from the page to the stage.
In its first year (2014-2015), the studio taught writers and theatre academics, while the following season (2015-2016), it expanded its activities with the support of renowned directors and a group of actors from the National Theatre.
At the end of each season, texts that had been worked on in the Studio were presented to the public in the form of directed staged readings.
Three graduates of the two previous Studios used their time there to write or work on plays produced in the 2016-2017 NTG “Writers of the Month” season.
The "Third Playwriting Studio for young people up to 35 years old", with director Sylvia Liouliou at the helm, lasted two academic years (November 2017-June 2019).
