Second National Theatre of Greece Showcase for international guests
03.4.2024
For the second year in a row, the National Theatre of Greece is organising a Showcase (from 4 to 7 April) for 35 artistic directors, curators and programmers from major foreign theatres and festivals.
The guests will attend NTG performances and meet the artists involved in them, with the aim of raising the visibility of Greek theatre abroad, hopefully leading to the participation of NTG productions in major foreign festivals and laying the foundations for future partnerships and co-productions.
The Showcase is part of the broader outreach initiative that is one of the main objectives of the present artistic directorship. “The National Theatre of Greece is now recognised for its international collaborations. Last year’s Showcase was undoubtedly extremely successful in paving the way for NTG productions to travel abroad and for co-productions with major European theatres. This year we are presenting a wide range of diverse productions with a variety of themes and styles, showing the strength of the country’s leading playhouse and spotlighting some of the most important creators from the world of Greek theatre. I want to thank the staff of the National Theatre of Greece, who have worked tirelessly to make this year’s Showcase a reality, and the Ministry of Culture, who gave us their fullest cooperation to secure the financing from the Recovery Fund that made this major outreach initiative possible,” notes the Artistic Director, Yannis Moschos.
The NTG Showcase takes place with financing from the Recovery and Resilience Fund.
