As if led by the ghost of Alexis Zorbas, nine people discover a fantastic place where anything is possible: different ideologies coexist in harmony, while dreams and desires become reality and the mystery of life is revealed.

The Lithuanian director Cezaris Grauzinis, who is well-known in Greece for his superb production of Daphnis and Chloe and his Waiting for Godot (which was performed at the Athens Festival), once again takes Greek literary tradition as his subject, creating bridges between the past and present. In this production, Nikos Kazantzakiss landmark novel becomes the inspiration for an original work of drama created together by the director and the actors during rehearsals.
