The happy prince

by Oscar Wilde

From 23.10.2016 to 09.04.2017

ZILLER BUILDING - MAIN STAGE

From high above the city, the statue of the Happy Prince sees everything and discovers another side of everyday life: its poverty, ugliness, corruption and hypocrisy. Every night, he weeps for all the misery going on around him, until a small swallow perches at his feet and the Happy Prince finally finds someone to assist him. Together, they will do everything they can to help the people of the city.

We would like to thank Ekati Publications for their kind permission to use extracts from the fairy tale “The Happy Prince” in the book The House with the Pomegranates, translated by Dora Stylianidou (Athens, 2005)
