Magda Stergiou

Magda Stergiou was born and raised in Thessaloniki, Greece. She graduated from the Department of Theatre of the School of Fine Arts at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, specializing in Acting and Theatre Studies.
Her diploma project — a devised performance titled Winter / Spring 2021 or How to Plant Your Time — was presented at the Venice Open Stage Festival in Italy (2022) and at the OFF-OFF Festival for emerging theatre groups at “Epi Kolono” Theatre in Athens (2022).
Since 2022, she has been based in Berlin, where she completed her internship and later joined the European Theatre Convention as a Project and Communication Assistant. Her main focus areas included Art Residencies and the ETC International Theatre Conference. As a performer, she has collaborated with Laura Tsiati and Dimitris Karageorgos on their ongoing project Mycelium (2024) at Lake Studios Berlin, and has been a member of the participatory and inclusive theatre group Ithakt, directed by Elena Sokratous.
She has attended workshops and courses by Lola Arias, Familie Flöz, and Daniel Wetzel (Rimini Protokoll) at the Berlin University of the Arts (UDK) Summer Academy, as well as seminars with Naemi Schmidt-Laube & Sven Tjaben (Kulturmarkthalle), Freddy Houndekindo & Marcus Doverud (Lake Studios Berlin), and Danae Theodoridou (Fontys University), among others.
She is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Cultural Technology and Communication at the University of the Aegean, focusing on Culture and Documentary Film Production. Her artistic research revolves around collective creation, hybrid performance forms, and the intersections between art and reality.
